Advice on training puppy nipping and biting play?
I have a 10 week old Lab / Collie bitch. They quickly pick up on very specific things (Burglary has done wonders and crating, with her), but it does not seem to get on one of nipping training, I've tried. My girlfriend and I often play with her and took her for many short walks every day so I do not think it lack of attention or pent-up energy. I tried the "Make a loud noise such as "ouch" and stop playing with it for a few minutes' method, but if anything it seems to be worse. Should I continue with this method and eventually they will be outgrown? Or does anyone here have any advice on better methods?
A more try with the current method to remember Is that you would be the "ouch do" or "ow, ow, ow" sound in high need, which sounds as litter mate, if it hurt your puppy. This particular Method is most suitable pressure to reduce the bite, but not always at the end of the biting / nipping of games for each puppy. In addition, the method uses scruffing, together with the one you are now. This is done much the same way, momma dog, your puppy such as discipline, as she has with her litter. When puppy takes gently biting / nipping, you, but firmly grasp it from the collar of her neck (the neck), she lifts his feet off the ground, shaking slightly and a growl sounding tone, say "no relaxed bite. These methods, both of which were recommended by our veterinarian and our obedience trainer and we found a combination to be very effective. I agree , there are no bad breeds, only bad owners. We have a BC, with small children, and had never been a big issue. It is with training your dog correctly and your children to do. People unable to get on the training of their dogs and children, and behave properly, when read together, just say, not for dogs to small children have. Shows a real lack of commitment to their part really.
