Is owning a German Shepherd hard?

Hi I am for the first time dog owners. I am planning a GSD in a year or so (im still under investigation). I heard from gsd owner that the property is a GSD yet rewarding demanding because of their dominant behavior. I'm doing a lot of research and I try get as much information as you train and care for a dog. I use Cesar Milan, the monks of New Skete and Temple Grandin, to help me understand dogs better. So I think I'm prepared when I get a gsd, but I have my doubts tiny. I know that there are owners who achieved what I want to achieve. So I want to hear the opinions of others, stories of their GSDs and other books, I can read to get a better understanding of dogs. Many thanks, I love German shepherds for their intelligence and their most loyalty, trust and eagerness to be loved. So if there is another race that I am not aware that these Properties has is a few recommendations promoted. : D

Hello! I have a 3 month old puppy I leave in the backyard every afternoon for a few hours. We play many games, get underneath and Tug-of-war. But after that I come in my office (with a door that I leave open what the backyard), so I sit and work, while my dog is running around where I can see him. Sorry, but the second I sit down my dog is constantly in my office and makes a mess. He refuses, in the backyard without me stay, and can not seem to have fun when I 'm out there with him. I wish there was a way I could make my work, and look up to this every once in a while to see him out there to have fun! I bought it balls, stuffed animals, bones and tough, but they only seem to bore him (they seem to hold him many happy when he is in the house, though). I am at PetSmart will look later today for a toy. Are there any suggestions for any necessary puppy toy that my puppy busy and fun can keep the garden?

How can I re-train my Boxer "potty" on patio paving stones instead of grass and dirt?

For almost the last 2 years, my Boxer was relieving himself in the doghouse outside that we only use for bathroom time. I wanted to clean things easier by looking for patio pavers down so I can only pick up his droppings and hose it down. The only problem is that now he seems completely confused and do not poop or pee in the kennel. I have tried him there left up to 30 minutes, stay there with him happened to the "Bad" command but nothing. He had no problem going in the kennel, if it is just grass and dirt is really a hard time with the paver. I try to be patient, but to him in the kennel and not poo on the lawn was not so severe. Funny you should mention this. (Boy you'll be happy if it all works out) My husband and are avid gardeners and have no grass in our garden. In any case, this is the reason why we have our entrance area of ….. fenced so the dogs to walk on cement. When we drive our re-done a few years back, refused to remove our dogs on grass! We went everywhere and they would not go. But if they must, they will. If it is not too hot where you live, so let him out of their longer, until he goes. He has sooner or later, right? Hello. This is a really important question and subject for that matter. I would agree that responsible breeders at different levels. My concern is that on some level, while the physical Needs of a dog can be achieved, the emotional needs can not be met. I think that set the standards of the USDA, and other organizations in the breeding regulations are involved, should be increased significantly. On the other hand, a large percentage of dogs that end up in shelters, ect … are due to irresponsible Owners. I resolve to not have the perfect answer to these problems, but education would be an important part. Unless someone [breeder or owner], the abuses a dog or any animal for that matter, I think the punishment should be swift, expensive, and include time behind bars. As far as a name for a forth category, you mentioned it in your question. The key word is "conscientious objection".

I get my puppy tomorrow. The owner told me that puppy mix, the laboratory and German dog. I'm not sure if the parents on the premises. I just want to make sure that I get the race that I want. You say that you make sure that you have the breed you want, but you are not always a race. You get a dog, by no offense means because there is nothing wrong races. (There is just something to deliberately breed!) Given a Labrador Retriever / German mastiff mix is not a race, these puppies are not predictable, are as well-bred purebred dogs. So, you have no idea what you get. The same could be puppy temperament to a laboratory, a German mastiff, or a combination it. Who knows? I just hope you realize. If you have an actual race (this mixture is not) in the interest of predictability, then buy a well-bred purebred Puppies. I personally would recommend against purchasing this puppy as this, you give money to someone intentionally two very different breeds of dogs or someone who is so careless to be accidental pregnancy was raised. Either way, you will need the support of a backyard breeder when a puppy from the exact same (or better) quality from a shelter or rescue could accept.
