How do I teach my dog the stay command?

I'm training a month old Shih Tzu 8 So far, I've trained him to come sit and lie. I would also like to know how to teach him to heel and fetch. Thanks.

The "stay" command is interesting – in fact, you can teach it so that you never really say. Since you already trained to "sit" and the "laity", you could easily teach your dog to "sit" that and "lay" means just to give that, until a release word. Suppose you put your dog in a 'sit'. Be sure that you are in a boring Environment, and "sit" to break all the temptations for your puppy is not around. Do you have a handful of cookies. Ask for the "sit" and reward they (the point of care so that the dog does not have to get up to get it!). Then when the dog sits still, shift your weight slightly (do not move your tell feet yet) If the dog sit in those. "OK!" (Or any other "Done!" Word) and treat the next cast, so that your puppy needs to stand up and maintain. Ask 'sit' for a return. Is your pup ready to take on a step and then go "OK!" to treatment? If he does not, he will stand up by itself, without the show, said, "OK!". That's fine – he learns what you mean with the release Word. Just gently take his collar and sit waiting for him (do not ask him to sit for a – wait for him to do it only.) Reward when he sits on his own. "Practice the sitting '- "OK!" and treat throw a few times before you start to move. Your puppy will naturally want to get up and follow – but shows him that he sit until you say is, "OK!" You need to do. Be gentle and do not frighten him packing with the collar – a scared dog not to be so fast want to learn. You will really be able to see when your dog understands what you do. It can start up from a sitting – and then, "Aha!" and again below. If that happens, say, "OK!" and it treats the whole handful, and finish the session on the high note. He is very eager to play this game again with you! Good luck!

How can you train a dog to walk to heel?

Hold the lead in your right hand ,let it go across your body so you’ve got the left hand on it too. the dog should be on your left. Now hold a treat in your left hand as well. My last dog loved a tiny bit of cheese ,or bake little cubes of liver in the oven until their quite hard, some dogs like a squeaky toy or a ball just as long as its some thing small to hold and the dog REALLY likes it. Now start walking, say HEEL and keep his attention by talking, letting him see/ smell the treat etc. This should keep his head close to your left leg. Then reward him with the treat once he’s done what you want. As time goes on it becomes a habit and he’ll just do when you say heel with out needing rewards except praise of course. Remember he actually wants to please you! It does work. Usually they seem to get it just when I think I’m getting nowhere. Be PATIENT and have FUN. Clubs and classes are good they teach you and encourage you and you usually meet some really nice people.

Has someone useful and basic puppy training tips?

Hello everybody! My husband and I recently adopted a German Shepherd and Rottweiler mix Puppies. We want to do it embodied the basic things (trespassing stay, sit, heel, lay down and stuff like that) as soon as possible. Any tips or advice would be great. Many thanks to all who answered too. I hate zombies, that the best laugh I had all day is. Thank you. :]

His feast. Dogs do not learn is by babied all the time. Discipline is a good thing if the dog does something wrong. Of course, reward, if she does something right. Treats are always a good reward system first with new commands, but as you further your education, you should use more and more voice of praise for a reward, so that Your dog listens to you, even if you do not treat too. Be the pack leader. Be consistent, calm, and keep up with him.
