How long should a dog be muzzled?

My dog bites .. a lot. She's been training for professional dog, and what me have not. She bites, if they do not get what she wants, she bites when she plays. the person who had encouraged us before biting, while of the game. now we have a monster. So we bought a muzzle. We do not want them to always be wearing a muzzle, but they bite all day long … as often should they are fed up?

If this is a basket muzzle, it may in the longer term, because the dog can be left to drink and pants to wear. If there is a solid Snout, which keeps the mouth is closed, then not more than 10 minutes as panting, which cools the dog. Putting a fixed muzzle a dog during hot weather is a death sentence. Heat stroke in dogs is not nice.

Teach my dog to heel, but he only does it help if you will,?

Okay, I took my dog a year ago. when I first started I taught him him how to heel, he wanted to. great in my backyard, so he would stay next to me, and sit when told. he was great. I thought it would be easier than I thought. Then I took him outside, he moved like crazy nothing will stop him not even a big juicy chicken. : ..! (He smells the trees in the grass after 5 min to smell it finally gave me his attention, he would heel him I slowly started to walk him three houses. down and then back again. Then I took him across the street. and again he would pull like crazy. to smell it as everything first, and he will literally suffocate to death: (I will not try. each choke collar or pin collar.i;'ve trained my other dogs without these devices, and they will come, no matter what. please help! My dog is neutered, and is 5 years old. Here is a picture of him if you want to see him him http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h231/pretty_lady_album/Picture0n24n.jpg.

Dogs are like people, if they like something out of what they do, the trick to this to give in my experience, a reward every time the dog does what you ask at the beginning then give a reward every so often, then thinks dog hanging on the last time I did it I got something, maybe I get something this time and when food-oriented dog food, try if not, a dog toy is for me works every time, I normally use small pieces of hot dog sausage, a piece for every command obeyed, a point but do not want too long for each session of 20 minutes or the dog may cause bored.hope this helps, worked for me when I was a dog handler was lucky phil

Maltese puppy training questions?

So I got a Maltese puppy 2 days ago. He is only 8 weeks old and not trained. I had not a chance to get Wee Wee Pads of training and he has all his vaccinations yet still so I can not house train him and let him go out with to do business had to be. What type of training would you suggest for a Maltese? and what is easier? Also, it would be too late to try to work out because it was not from day was started 1? Thankss

First, it is never too late to start exercising a dog at any age, but the sooner they start, the better. You have several options for occupational training. A use if your own yard and no other pets, you should order from court let your puppy to go to the toilet before vaccinated, just do not let him roam the yard for long periods unattended. They just want contact with other dogs and public areas to avoid, where many different (may not be vaccinated) dogs would have would be your main concern is before your puppy has been vaccinated. Until you get your wee pads could try with newspaper and when you see walking the puppy just has it in the paper and hold it there until he goes good and praise him every time he goes there. Another possibility would be be a dog litter box. Since it is small, you could use a litter box and use the dog litter and you can easily train him to use it and continue for the rest of his life When you use or you can just use it as an alternative to going outside, for example, when the weather was bad or if he has to be inside for, that a longer period. Including training visits www.sitmeanssit.com. They are a great group of trainers, if you can not in your area, call around the local pet food store and get their recommendations, but make sure you meet the coach before you pay anything, ask if you could be one of their observed group lessons or private lessons, to see how they train, basically interview the coach. If they ask for money up front without seeing you or without you to show how they do not have to train with them once. Hope this helps.

dog training nipping

dog training nipping
Why does my dog get so vicious?

My dog nips a little, we are training them not. But sometimes, when I run, where some (in a another room for example), she chases me and growls and then tried to bite me. Why does she do it? I know she probably thinks I play, but when I get to play or tug of war with her she does not get vicious. Sorry if this is a stupid question: (other than that, shes a good dog!

If they in their herding dog race nipping and chasing is normal, but either way it must be stopped. If they growl and bite to you, that is an unacceptable behavior and requires ended. Do not play the Chase Me playing more, find a game that she plays taken without biting, tearing, or mouth. If you do not stop now, it will only get worse. PS>>> It's not a silly question, it is a general problem and only a part of the training of a dog:)

What can I do about my puppy to stop biting my older dog?

I have 2 dogs, the two girls. one is a 2 1 / 2 year old Wire Hair Terrier / Daucshund / Mini-Schnauzer mix, and the other is a 4-month-old peikenese / Wire Hair Terrier / English Springer Spaniel mix. the 4-month-old road is already larger as their 2 yr old companions, and she knows it. they fit the smaller dog's head in their mouths to the problem. she does not try n bite hard, but every time we in the house, she does it, even if they were out together. they will try to display dominance, and there a way to dissuade her? my older dog is always wounds from where they were biting.

The little girl is still a puppy and the biting will pass and it will not happen very soon so take care of it. They are not real, but deliberate bites dog bites, and should have the older dog, now snapped back just enough to train the little ones stop it .. I do not want to worry about it .. It is normal and will eventually subside and pass

Dog Obedience Training Tips

imageObedience training is probably the best thing you can ever do for yourself and your dog. It should be noted that dog obedience training will not resolve all dog behavior problems. However, it’s a very useful foundation for resolving most of the dog behavior problems you’ll encounter.

Dog obedience training comes in several flavors. The most popular type is basic obedience, where you teach your dog how to sit, stay, fetch and lay down. There is also a more advanced training that can be used for purebred dog on how to behave during a dog show. The basic type of training also has several different methods that are currently popular. Many owners use rewards to get their dogs to behave or listen to commands. Others prefer the clicker method in order to condition their dogs to obey.

Most dog behavior problems can be addressed with proper home training. Obedience training is a commitment by the owner and the dog. You’ll need a lot of patience if you want to be successful at home obedience training. Most dogs behavior problems show-up because the owner fails to set and enforce the rules. Dog obedience training serves to make you the pack leader and teaches your dog to follow your instructions. Once this relationship is established, you and your dog will both enjoy a fruitful partnership.

It’s important to start basic obedience training when your dog is still a puppy. If you don’t train your puppy, you will have a much harder time once all the bad habits have set in. Basic dog obedience is the responsibility of the owner and should probably start with potty training as the first objective. Once that objective is accomplished, you’ll be well on your way to having a happy obedient dog.

Does your dog have a problem with excessive barking, biting and whining? Is your dog overly aggressive? While it’s always best to start training them as a puppy, the good news is it’s never too late to train your dog. If your dog is uncontrollable, then this is going to continue to get even worse. Obedience training can fix your dog’s behavior problems and teach your dog to substitute acceptable behaviors for unacceptable behaviors. Dogs are extremely intelligent and they can learn very quickly.

Once you understand how your dog learns, you can train him to follow basic obedience commands. The primary reason some training sessions fail is because the owner expects his dog to think like a human. These owners try screaming at their dog and doing all kinds of weird behaviors just hoping the dog will eventually listen. Obedience training will allow you to communicate to your dog exactly what your want them to do.

Many dog owners today get so frustrated that they end up hiring a dog trainer. But that’s only partially effective. There are some things your dog just can’t learn from a trainer. That’s because most obedience training actually takes place at home in your day to day dealings with your pet. However, with the proper tools, anyone can have a happy well-behaved pet.
