Dog / child relationship?

A month ago my husband and I have our little boy in the world. When I was eight months together we have the rash decision to make such a good puppy. The puppy has been great so far and will have little or no effort. I was jealous worry if my son was, however, they all said, so that the puppy sniff the baby and everything seems to be OK. However, now keeps the puppy in the nursery and fits under my son's crib and growls who enters, including my husband and I. She has not bitten yet, but seems on Safeguards. Is this normal?
